Today in Connecticut, a jury has awarded 965 million dollars to the plaintiffs in the defamation court case against far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. The parents and family of the Sandy Hook mass shooting victims have scored a huge legal win against the Infowars talk show host.

Alex Jones claimed that the Sandy Hook massacre in which 20 small children between the ages of six and seven years old were murdered was staged. The six school employees who died also didn’t happen. He said that the parents were crisis actors and that the mass shooting was fake and staged.

The reasoning behind this unbelievable, ignorant conspiracy theory was that the government was going to use this mass shooting to take away America’s Second Amendment gun rights. As of today, October 12th, 2022, this still has yet to happen. They aren’t coming to confiscate your guns, People.

However, this slob of a man has continually repeated his baseless claims of Sandy Hook being a staged incident. He has preached his ignorant, paranoid, lack of factual information to his idiot followers on Infowars. These followers then harassed, threatened, and attempted to intimidate the families of these poor murdered children.

These sick assholes even threatened the rape and murder of the victims' parents and children. These are the type of people that this sick fuck Alex Jones appeals to. The lowest common denominator of society. Even Donald Trump is a supporter of Alex Jones and Infowars. Big shocker there, right?

Yes, let’s hope this billion-dollar award ends Infowars and Alex Jones’ pathetic career. Photo: Wikimedia Commons

People will cry out about their freedom of speech being violated. These people should look into what “freedom of speech” actually entails. There are limits. You can’t yell “FIRE” in a crowded place. You can’t use words to incite violence against others. Alex Jones is currently learning this in a huge financial way

You also can’t direct your supporters to start an insurrection and attempt to overthrow the United States government, as Donald Trump attempted to do on January 6th, 2021. Ask the ones who have been convicted and sentenced to prison how that’s working out for them. My guess is that most of them regret going to jail because of the Orange Oompa Loompa.

Alex Jones started to claim that he was not mentally sound when he made these baseless, hateful, ignorant claims. Coincidentally, he changed his tune around the time he was sued by the first few families in 2018. Funny how that works, huh? “I stand behind my beliefs. Well, at least until they’re about to cost me my empire.”

And cost, it will. When added to the legal tab he’d already amassed prior to today’s 965 million dollar ruling, he’s now over 1 billion dollars in debt. He claims that he is broke and that the Sandy Hook victims will never receive a penny. This of course assumes that his appeal gains any sort of traction and the award amount is reduced or dismissed.

I find this highly unlikely. By the jury awarding an amount close to one billion dollars, they are sending a message to Alex Jones and the rest of his kind: “Don’t FUCK with us. We’ve had enough of your lies and bullshit. Just close your mouth and keep it closed. We’re coming for your Fox News, next. Marjorie Taylor Greene, watch your back. You have a big, lying, trashy mouth, too.”

Most decent, hard-working Americans with families that they love will not stand for a garbage human spewing ignorance and hate toward people whose children have been massacred in a mass shooting. We will not tolerate hate speech cloaked under the guise of free speech. Hate speech of any kind is unacceptable.

Alex Jones’ net worth from being a cocky, ignorant, loud-mouthed human turd is estimated somewhere between 150 to 200 million dollars. Infowars is a huge entity and highly revered amongst the conservative Christian far-right wingers who worship Alex Jones, Donald Trump, and others of their kind.

I’m somewhat surprised that fiscally conservative people waste the kind of money they do supporting Infowars, Truth Social, and Parler. Those aren’t smart business decisions. I guess nobody ever claimed these people were intelligent. Your money is likely to be better spent somewhere else.

I, for one, absolutely hope that Alex Jones and Infowars are destroyed by these lawsuits. I would love for nothing more than to read about the demise of his company and the stoppage of all the hate, ignorance, and conspiracy theories he’s constantly spewing to whip conservatives into a frenzy. While we’re at it, can we get rid of that damned Faux News, too?

But part of me wants him to succeed, to see him keep working hard and making all of that money he’s been making. Then I could feel wonderful about him being garnished for damn near every RED cent he’s making. I want to see that the families who have been targeted by him and his moronic followers can collect financially. They deserve every penny, for what his lies and his shitty followers have put them through.

Alex Jones could go to prison for life, fall into a pit, or drive off of a cliff as far as I’m concerned. The world would be a far better place without his angry, mediocre white-man vitriol coming across our airwaves. Today though, I’ll celebrate and revel in the fact that another shitbag human being has to pay and pay hugely for his sins. &:^)
