Stripes and Bars to Stars
In the hip hop genre, rappers often describe how they’ve earned stripes, and sometimes in the next breath say they’re five star generals. This is true, but only with conditions. Someone who transitions from the enlisted ranks to becoming an officer is known as a mustang, and it takes decades for officers to achieve general status.

The connecting halls seemed larger than usual, I find it difficult to be relaxed in a place like this. You might ask, if I don’t like to be here, why am I in this situation again? Well, a promise is a promise. The last time we saw each other I said that I’ll back on my own to ask him the same old questions. He assured me that we could dive deep into what sparks my imagination. My curiosity goes beyond morbid knowledge of gruesome past events. I don’t know what lies behind this veil of secrecy of him, could it be a vow? Could it be so traumatic that he wants to forget and never revisit the ordeal? I guess I’ll find out today.

In the entire history of the United States of America there has been a grand total of 15 years when we have not been at war with someone. Big wars. Small wars. Charles BeuckPublished 3 years ago in ServeA reflection of my life
Reflections of my life was a Vietnam era song sung by the Marmalades. It was one of my favorite songs and still is. This song states that moonlight to sunrise that there are reflections of my life. But as I have aged I too am beginning to reflect on my life and what it has been. I am sixty years old, but the artist singing this song wrote it when he was fifteen.

Lawrence Edward HincheePublished 3 years ago in ServeOne of the best war miniseries ever
I have a deep love of history. The wars, the settling of America, but my biggest area of history that I love to study is the Holocaust ERA. There have been many great movies about this time period, The Hiding Place, Schindlers List, Valkyrie, Silent Night just to name a few. Had I known that the city I was stationed in is where my German ancestors hailed from, I would have spent more time learning about them.
