Rap music is famous for discussing certain subjects at length — violence, strip clubs, twerking, drugs, and clubbing, to name a few. One of the most common things mentioned in rap music is alcohol, and it's common enough that liquor companies have begun to pay rappers to mention their particular brands.

If you're like me, you can rattle off quite a few liquor names and wine types mentioned in rap songs. Ever wonder what are the most common drinks mentioned in rap? So did many others!

In 2013, Complex created an infographic that showed the most common drinks mentioned in rap songs... and a number of articles went a bit more in-depth with the research afterward. Here's what they found.

Hennessy

Hennessy is a strong liquor, and it's one of the strongest contenders for the most popular liquor in the hip hop community. It's strong, impressively flavorful, and also remains classy in its own right. No wonder rappers seem to love it so much!

According to Complex, 141 different major mainstream songs mentioned Henny, making it the number one winner on the list of the most common drinks mentioned in rap music.

Hennessy also happens to be the base of a number of cocktails mentioned in hip hop, including the Incredible Hulk (equal parts Hennessy and Hypnotiq), Happy Juice (Hennessy and apple juice), and Crunk Juice (equal parts Hennessy and Red Bull).

Fans of Hennessy include Tupac, Ja Rule, Diddy, Lil' Jon and Master P.

Cristal

If you watch The Boondocks, then you might know that the cartoon also made a reference to Cristal — the drink, not the stripper. The reason why it was mentioned was due to the fact that it remains one of the most common drinks mentioned in rap and the creators of the show know that.

The fizzy drink has long been seen as a celebration beverage, and as the kind of drink you enjoy while "ballin' out." So, it's obviously got a lot of rappers and hip hop aficionados who can claim to be fans.

Cristal is also a main ingredient in the Thug Passion cocktail, which was invented by Tupac Shakur back in the 90s. (For the record, it's equal parts Cristal and Alize.)

Fans of Cristal include Lil' Wayne, Kanye West, Tupac, and Nas.

Patron

If you can't handle Patron, then you can't handle one of the most common drinks mentioned in rap. This smooth tequila has been featured in rap songs for ages, and to a point, actually has become associated with hip hop as a whole.

Patron has longstanding history of being poured in strip clubs, being a status symbol in nightclubs, and for causing people to make terrible mistakes while drunk. As such, it's not that surprising that it ends up getting mentioned quite a bit in rap songs about clubbing.

Fans of Patron include Kendrick Lamar, T.I., Lil' Wayne, Ludacris, Kanye West, Notorious B.I.G., and Snoop Dogg.

Remy Martin

Remy Martin is one of those liquors people seem to love or hate. Considering that it's one of the most common drinks mentioned in rap, it seems like rappers really adore it. That being said, it's a strong liquor that really seems to get the clubs going.

Fans of Remy Martin include Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Eminem, Ja Rule, T.I., and DMX.

Alize

This sickly sweet fizzy alcoholic beverage has been a major favorite among old school rappers. It's cheap, it's tasty, and it's colorful and works with your outfits. We can understand why it's popular in rap songs and strip clubs alike.

Alize also happens to be a popular rap cocktail ingredient, thanks to the invention of Thug Passion by Tupac. Basically, if you wanted to show old school hip hop cool, you'd end up drinking Alize.

Fans of Alize include Tupac (obviously), Too Short, LL Cool J, The Weeknd, and Nelly.

Malt Liquor

Prior to rap being associated with glitz and glam, it was associated with living a hard life and having to deal with having little to no money. Unsurprisingly, this made malt liquor a major topic in the early 90s.

Though the brands may vary, generalized malt liquor has been featured in quite a few rap songs. So, it ranks high among the most common drinks mentioned in rap.

Jimmy B's "Olde English" is a song that's all about the malt liquor by the same name. The Beastie Boys also rapped about Brass Monkey, which is malt liquor mixed with juice.
