On June 19, Jack Daniel's and Diplomatico Rum partnered with Indulge to present Above 125, a rooftop social series that continues to carve out its own space in Harlem's nightlife. Set atop the Victorian Hotel, just steps from the Apollo Theater, the gathering offered a relaxed evening built around R&B music, conversation, and community.

Above 125 was created with a simple idea in mind. Every event centers on a different chapter of R&B, giving guests an opportunity to revisit the music that has shaped generations while connecting with people who share an appreciation for the genre. Rather than following nightlife trends, the series leans into the lasting influence of rhythm and blues and the culture surrounding it.

The June edition followed a Women of R&B celebration that recognized many of the artists whose voices have helped define the sound and legacy of the genre. According to event coordinator Craig Martin, that rotating concept will remain at the heart of the series.

"We plan to have a different theme every event, which will be rooted in R&B," Martin said.

While the music provides the foundation, the organizers are equally focused on creating an experience that feels welcoming. Martin explained that Indulge has built a reputation through invitation-only gatherings over the years, but Above 125 reflects a different direction.

"We are known for having exclusive invite-only events. With Above 125, we want our experience to be accessible to the general social scene," Martin said.

That approach was reflected throughout the evening. Early arrivals were welcomed with a complimentary hour of cocktails courtesy of Jack Daniel's and Diplomatico Rum, along with a selection of light bites that encouraged guests to settle in, introduce themselves, and enjoy the setting before the night gained momentum. The rooftop's location overlooking one of Harlem's most recognizable corridors added another layer to the experience, placing attendees in the middle of a neighborhood that has long served as a home for music, creativity, and cultural expression.

The soundtrack came from DJ Wavey, whose selections moved comfortably between familiar chart favorites and deeper R&B records that rewarded listeners with an appreciation for the genre's history. Instead of relying on one era or sound, his set reflected the breadth of R&B, blending contemporary hits with classics and overlooked selections that kept the crowd engaged throughout the night.

Above 125 also stands out because it attracts a diverse mix of guests.
