These hard working women have been pounding the pavement and making their way through the trenches of the professional world in order to bring fans a book dedicated to the ins and outs of the modern workplace. “Working Girls: Trixie and Katya’s Guide to Professional Womanhood,” is a hysterical and poignant take on a workplace self help book that shines with the comedic genius that each of these drag superstars are known for.
Much like their first book, “Trixie and Katya’s Guide to Modern Womanhood,” this book had me turning pages like crazy. Each of these women has a unique perspective and voice, and their insight into the world of work is unlike the typical workplace narratives that line the personal growth section of the bookstore. It is always refreshing to find a book that can offer me help without actually telling me I need help. I know that’s a bit of a conundrum, but I think that the way humor masks some of the genuine advice found in this book makes it easier to read compared to other books designed to offer advice on personal or professional growth.
Everything is better with a little bit of humor! Trixie and Katya’s witty anecdotes regarding womanhood in the workforce are unparalleled and sure to leave you laughing… and potentially reevaluating some decisions and faux pas that you’ve made in your own work history. In their individual essays, Trixie and Katya share their personal takes on every topic from job interviewing, the various cast of coworkers you might encounter, and even retirement. Showing you how to get a job, keep a job, and, subsequently, leave a job, Trixie and Katya have all the bases covered. Not only does this book talk about the workplace as an institution, it also tackles the growing “side hustle” industry and what it means to earn a living working outside of the typical 9-5.
Although this book was written to be funny, there are also sincere moments where both Trixie and Katya share tender thoughts and discuss some serious topics--despite the fact that it is all laced with their trademark cynical humor. Fans of Trixie and Katya know that their outer appearances do not match the dry, dark humor that they each possess. With that being said, fans of this dynamic duo will know that much of the humor expressed throughout this book comes from an elevated, sarcastic place that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
For fans of Drag Race, UNHhhh, Queens Who Like to Watch, The Bald and The Beautiful, or any of the other countless outlets that Trixie and Katya dominate, I would highly recommend this book. It is lighthearted and comedic, but it is also peppered with helpful advice and some pretty direct commentary about the workforce system here in the United States. If you are looking for a beautifully finished book with heart, soul, laughs, and two gorgeous women, then I would make sure that you get a copy of “Working Girls: Trixie and Katya’s Guide to Professional Womanhood'' as soon as you can.
Also, in true drag superstar fashion, this book is riddled with various comedic glamor shots that highlight the whimsy and precision it takes to be a drag persona at such a high caliber. Each of the photos fits effortlessly into the narrative and often adds an elevated touch to the words on the page. The physical humor and physicality of drag come alive in the various collections of photographs that are included in the book, and it further displays the sense of friendship and camaraderie that both Trixie and Katya have developed after working so closely together for many years.

The coming day, Aravan was offered, and Mohini mourned his death, therefore establishing the ritual of eunuchs mourning the death of Aravan during the jubilee. The jubilee is held annually in the vill of Koovagam, located in the Viluppuram quarter of Tamil Nadu, during the Tamil month of Chitrai( April- May). It attracts thousands of transgender individualities, both from within India and abroad, who come together to celebrate their identity, culture, and community. ** The Fashion Show A festivity of Diversity and Creativity ** One of the highlights of the Koovagam Festival is really the fashion show, which serves as a platform for transgender individualities to show their gift, creativity, and unique sense of style.
