Ode to the non binary

by Sam Harty

By ᔕᗩᗰ ᕼᗩᖇTYPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

I'm needy

I'm small

all these

years

have taken

their toll.

I need to

break down

this wall

take charge

of my life

stand tall.

The people

stare at me

everyone is

super aware

of me

I'm a very

different

kind of

person who

lives life

their own

version of

cool, nerdy

androgynous

just being

myself but

I consider

it only my

business.

Now a days

in the house

on the hill

government

buildings

want none of

my ilk.

Telling me

what bathroom

I can use

just another

excuse for

non binary

abuse.

I am not

going to

change one

little bit

I'll still

be here in

four years

when that

orange

devil's time

has been all

spent.

I'll survive

because I'm

not just a

phase so

putting

love over

hate is how

I plan to

spend my

days.
