Momentum: A 4words Spring Showcase

Momentum is not linear. Momentum ricochets. It curves and bounces. It is not just about the forward. Momentum is more than just the Now. It is what is beyond.

With the Spring season in full swing, it is time to harness that energy and spring forth with momentum. We take note from nature.

We Paint. Write. Sing. Share.

We use this momentum to document the multi-faceted humanity and inhumanity and champion positive change.

We invite you to join us on June 20th @ 6PM (EST) in sharing this creative virtual space. A place for expression, collective grief, heart, and compassion. This free virtual event is an Open Mic and Art Exhibit, a safe community space for all ages, talents, and skills. Think: Show & Tell+

We are reaching out to YOU – the writers, poets, artists, musicians, the talented. We want to showcase YOU. Find your poems and prose, dust off your instruments and vocal cords, and prepare to share your talent with like-minded people. Casa Frida Refugio LGBTI+

Casa Frida is an organization dedicated to the protection, support and social integration of LGBTIQ+ people who are victims and survivors of extreme violence, crimes and hate crimes in Mexico.

With a humanistic and transitional justice approach , we provide shelter, psychosocial support, legal assistance, and economic development opportunities, ensuring a safe and dignified environment for those who have been displaced or are in the context of human mobility, aiming to rebuild autonomy diminished by experiences of violence.

We work to create support networks, promoting a culture of peace, equality and inclusion, while coordinating efforts with civil society, governments and international organizations.

Legal Dignity Donation - Legal Dignity

Legal Dignity is a human rights organisation that promotes and defends non-discriminatory access to justice for LGBTQI+ persons in Malaysia.

We offer legal counsel and representation on issues impacting the lives, dignity, and liberties of LGBTIQ+ individuals. We advocate for law and public policy reforms at the local, state, & federal levels to ensure LGBTIQ+ individuals are protected and able to live freely and fully as themselves. We educate and train the public about LGBTIQ+ advocacy and their legal and constitutional rights.

A Throwback to our Winter Showcase:

In February, our inaugural Showcase centered on the theme of Unrest. The first quarter of 2026 brought a storm – we rose to protect each other from it. Featuring lovely pieces of spoken word and short prose, evocative pieces of art, and some light-hearted jokes, 4words’ first Winter Showcase was successful in not only raising money for Bridge of Solidarity and Detention Resistance, but in helping create a safe community.

We strive to continue building this shared space while supporting important causes globally and embracing art and creativity – something this world will always need.
