Who is Bernie Hanna Butter?

Hint: He'll get you really stoned

Who is Bernie HannaButter?

It’s a cannabis strain but named after which Bernie I’m not sure. There’s a Dr. Bernie Hanna in Las Vegas who’s known for bariatric surgery. I doubt he’s for whom the weed is named. On the other hand, the munchies could indeed lead to gastric bypass.

Another mystery over a cannabis name, for now. But is this weed with the strange name even worth talking about?

Yes! I got mine at Xclusive Cannabis in Denver from the grower Cherry. I paid $20 for an eighth. I am not disappointed.

Do you know how some buds perfectly break down into a powder as you rub it between your fingers? Those buds always seem to make the best bowls to smoke, and this strain is no exception.

The flavor of Bernie Hanna Butter doesn’t disappoint its namesake – it’s buttery, indeed. Or “buttah,” as Linda Richmond of 1990s Saturday Night Live fame would describe it.

Giving you the giggles

According to both AllBud and Leafly, Bernie Hanna Butter induces the giggles. Despite that, there are moments of intense focus when you first begin to smoke it. “But you'd better hurry, AllBud warns, “this focus will soon fade away into a heady state that can have you falling in and out of fits of the giggles for hours on end. A physical calm accompanies this heady boost, helping to keep your body totally relaxed. Combined its super high 28-30% average THC level, these effects give Bernie Hanna Butter an edge in treating a variety of conditions including mood swings or depression, chronic fatigue and chronic stress or anxiety. This bud has a sweet and creamy fruity berry candy flavor with a touch of diesel.”

Leafly users says Bernie Hanna Butter helps with cramps, lack of appetite and pain. “Feelings” include “talkative, giggly and uplifted.”

AllBud users report the strain helps with mood swings or depression, chronic fatigue and chronic stress or anxiety. “This bud has a sweet and creamy fruity berry candy flavor with a touch of diesel,” according to AllBud. “The aroma is heavier, with a dank diesel overtone accented by sweet flowers and a punch of tangy berries. Bernie Hanna Butter buds have oversized and heavy emerald green nugs with deep undertones, thin orange hairs and tiny, minty-white crystal trichomes.”

Rush of warmth and euphoria

The high washes over you from head to toe upon exhale. It’s a rush of warmth and euphoria as the delicious taste of the weed lingers on your tongue. While there’s definitely a gassy theme upon inhale that can be slightly harsh upon exhale, there also is the lingering taste of candy on the tongue on the exhale.

In addition to making me feel really warm I also am really stoned in the most literal sense, bordering on stuck on stupid. This happens infrequently as I am a very seasoned user. The weed I am smoking is less than 21% THC. High, but not by modern-day standards.

Adding some Chainsmokers to the mix, “Something just like this” seems an appropriate tune while smoking this tasty weed.

“Some superhero, some fairy tale bliss … I want something just like this.”

Bernie Hanna Butter resides in the cookies family of genetics, which always is a crowd pleaser. Try it the next time you see it at your favorite dispensary.

Fifty words to go

But unfortunately, my story is not long enough, and I have to add fifty words. I will just say smoking pot is the light of my life. I can’t smoke enough of it most days. Marijuana is God’s gift to us. Don’t ever forget it.
