Your hand (An ode to KK)

A Poem

If the oceans leaked away

And the soil it turned to sand

I would be okay with that,

As long as I held your hand.

If darkness claimed every star

And fire scorched the land

I’d be okay with that, too,

As long as I held your hand.

If human beings just gave up

And the world was left unmanned

I’d even be okay with that,

As long as I held your hand.

But if peace and prosperity reigned

With sorrow banished from the land

It wouldn’t mean a thing to me

If I couldn’t hold your hand.
