You were the one

Was I never meant to be loved?

By Mel WrightPublished 6 days ago 1 min read

Your words cut me like a knife,

burying deeper, taking my life.

Each syllable, piercing my soul,

and now I will never be whole.

I know now that you'll fake cry,

as I contemplate how to die.

Did you ever love me?

Or did you know we will never be?

I want to wish you the best,

as the knife buries deeper in my chest.

You were there talking about our future,

now you are pulling the triger, becoming the shooter.
