you were right

my sister is always right

By Katarina TylerPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

Okay so

You were right

There's not really anything beautiful about heartbreak.

So you were right I’m not beautiful

I’m just sad and

the tulips never grew from my tears

and my hand still searches for his

in a dark room

and feels empty

and the emptiness isn’t beautiful or complicated

It’s just scary, mostly.

You were right.

There’s nothing beautiful about having your own tragedy.

It just means you have to caress it by yourself

sing it to sleep

I’m still trying to make beauty out of a mistake that I loved

and

You were right

It’s not pretty to see the world through your own tears

it’s just blurry.
