You Were My Best Friend

A Heart Wrenching Goodbye

Its been three weeks

You have not called

What did I do

You were my best friend

The long talks, happy times

Your daughter needed me

Didn't mean a thing

You were my best friend

You said goodbye

Without saying goodbye

Left me in the dark

You were my best friend

I took it seriously

I don't say it lightly

Its hard to trust

You were my best friend

You meant so much

I meant so little

Too easy to alienate me

You were my best friend

Regret wrong doing

I am unaware of

You never said

You were my best friend

Will forever miss you

Bittersweet memories

Some people change

You were my best friend

I must move on

This is not healthy

I deserve better, even though

You were my best friend
