Is love meant for me?
Loving you feels like a burden.
Loving you is a mystery.
Loving you is a fearless game.
I was 16, you were 18.
I was 18, you were 20.
I was 20... and you stayed 20.
Why?
Why was I aging while you remained the same?
Why was I moving forward alone?
Why am I in the college we dreamed of?
Why am I here, while you are gone?
Your home once alive with laughter,
Lost its will to live.
Your mother, who loved you dearly,
Forgot how to love at all.
Your father, once full of joy,
Now forgets how to smile.
Your sister, who spoke endlessly,
Struggles to form her words.
And me? I lost my everything.
I lost you, my world, my heart.
You told me I'd never be alone.
But you never told me how to live without you.
My heart aches, my soul is shattered.
My survival instincts are wounded.
You killed me alive, yet I couldn't see you.
Where are you? The love I deserve?
I hear your voice in the wind,
Whispering the promises we made.
I see your shadow in our places,
But my hands close around nothing.
Please, take me with you.
Someday, somehow, I want to visit.
To see you, even in a dream.
To feel you, even as an illusion.
They tell me to move on, to heal.
To let go, to love again.
But how do I let go of you,
When you were my breath, my light?
Do you remember our whispered dreams?
Do you remember our sacred promises?
I do—I remember it all.
But memories are fading like autumn leaves.
You left without a goodbye.
Now I stand between past and future.
I love you so much, honey,
That I forgot how to love myself.
And yet, I remain, breathing, existing.
But for how long?
