Used choice words with the birds.

Ate seasoned steak with the cows.

Little did they know…

It was the depths of repair

and recovery,

in a paradoxical way.

I call it a Pollyanna spin on an Anne of Green Gables quote.

Friends met with parents.

Parents confided in friends.

Gossip nests didn’t pay any rent,

in the space of corners, their time was spent.

If you squawk,

you walk,

the pirate plank of my long eyelashes…
