You Haven't Kissed Me

Say It Again

By Julie LacksonenPublished 4 months ago Updated 4 months ago 1 min read

So much in common

Stories given voice

I smile

You smile

- yet -

You haven't kissed me

*

Laughter shared

Walks in the park

I smile

You smile

- yet -

You haven't kissed me

*

Meals together

Movies enjoyed

Tentative touches

- yet -

You haven't kissed me

*

You warn me

There's a chance of it

The next time we meet

You finally did

Wow!

My head spins

Time slows

Bonds deepen

How we enjoy each other

*

You passed in the night

Time slowed

No more

Stories,

Smiles,

Laughter,

Walks,

Meals

- Since then -

You haven't kissed me

Other than in my dreams

*

Author’s note: This is based on true events. My rapscalious late husband took his sweet time kissing me, and then warned me it was coming.

RIP, Ted.
