You felt like home

A story of unrecognised love and loss. A person who felt like home.

You felt like home

I still remember that day when I left you in the parking lot.

I didn't know it at the time but it was the last time I would ever see you again.

Ever since then, I've been watching you on social media making sure you're happy.

I miss the times when everything was so easy between us.

We raced cars at the arcade every weekend - I always won. Or, perhaps you just let me win?

There were early mornings to the beach to watch the sun rise while you surfed.

You even held me through tragedy.

Everyone knew that if they could find me, they'd find you. We were inseparable and together we could conquer the world.

Then one day the comfortable home that was you melted and disappeared.

I didn't know it at the time but you were all I ever needed.

You were the home I've been looking for ever since.
