You drank me away
In a sea of booze

Bottle lays empty on the table,
and the harsh words from your lips sting.
Drank your fill, yet I was full;
words can wear down a soul.
You drank me away.
The door creaks shut.
I tiptoe
softly.
Free.
About the Creator
Kate Bolton
Growing up, the woods at the end of my street led to a lovely stream with a tiny waterfall; I called it 'Clover Falls'. I would sit near the stream with a pad and pen writing poetry and stories, dreaming of becoming a famous poet one day.
