"YOU & ME IN 1989"

"A DECADE OF CHANGE"

BEAUTY IN A FADE BY MY FRIEND THE LATE JOHN TRUDELL

This is a true story as told to me by a friend after a breakup with her abusive ex long ago. This story-prose is dedicated to all persons who live, love, and breakup after years of struggles between a woman & man, or man & man, or woman & woman. The pain bleeds the heart after secrets revealed that ended the relationship in domestic violence of either verbal abuse or physical abuse. Both hurt the heart and sever the soul. The trick is do not sell your soul for love.

YOU & ME IN 1989

A DECADE OF CHANGE

The love we made.

Never had I ever made love

Like the way we made love.

The heart hurts,

The pain after all those years

Of the events of recent contrast.

I never knew of your violent past

Of the file I saw,

The thickness, like a book.

I must have had an angel with me

All those ten years.

The destructive, prejudice, introverted personality

Of your anger exploited into

My body that night

Spring two thousand.

Your lies about your past,

Your lies about your recent marijuana charge,

The lie hurts.

The truth always finds you out.

The lies told,

The stealing of items not purchased

reveal how

You take & take.

You took them from me.

You used me.

You took advantage of me, my credit, my fame.

My credit is ruined.

My inheritance is gone.

I did not get paid back.

You owed me money.

You did not pay it back,

Cause’ you take & take.

The world you create,

Is a summary of your own world.

I do not want to live in your world

Of hatred and anger.

You cannot put me down.

Your family cannot laugh at me again.

You cannot control me,

Ever, again,

The bully of your family.

You are no longer in my life.

I look around

& see you,

But you are empty.

You left me bruised and in pain,

All for your gain

As the cop said you were laughing.

They took you away,

After ten years of holding our marriage together

The curtain fades.

You beat me, so mean,

the marriage of two hearts

in the heat of the night

out of sight now

of the day of vows at St. Ynez Reservation

years ago, now.

somehow you left me.

I left you.

The curtains fade.

Like a thief in the night,

YOU BRUISED ME!

THE END!
