Yearning for Peace

Do you just want to escape the noise sometimes?

Yearning for Peace

Lately, I crave peace so much

A little more than I crave for pies

Those little serene moments

When your thoughts are controlled

And you're focused on minute things

Like how beautiful your feet are

And how your toes glow naturally

Something you wouldn't even remember

If your mind was in a bunch of chaos

When you desire to be around nature

And if the world wasn't so unsafe

You'd sit up with the moon all night

Watching how the clouds move over it

Then you feel as though you're floating

With deep breaths taken in and out

Absorbing the sounds from rustling leaves

And the almost obnoxious cry of chirping insects

That's how close you can be to reality

If only the world wasn't so noisy

And people would realize that

Peace is pertinent for everyday survival

In a crazy and chaotic society like ours
