Yearn for a stranger

Have you ever thought of your love that you've never met?

dear soulmate,

the day melts into the next day,

and that one into the next,

until they all become one big blur.

my heart yearns to finally meet you,

my eyes are impatient, to finally see you,

my fingertips, to trace the contours of your face.

I somehow inexplicably already love you,

I'm already sorry for all the mistakes I'm going to make.

I'm already trying to be a better person even though you'll say that you don't need me to change.

I am yet to do silly things and you are yet to say funny things, but I already revel in the sound of your laughter.

It's the most beautiful sound.

Anyway, I have dishes to wash, a house to clean and a Strathmore University entry exam to freak out about, so I should probably stop weaving this fantasy and get back to real life.
