This year, I see the roses that line the walkway.

I feel the soft, tender underbelly of their petals radiate from the soles of my feet to the crown of my head; they

echo like the tender love songs my neighbor listens to in the apartment next door, amidst the bright sound of afternoon bustle below our windows.

I inhale the flowers' graceful scent and linger

in the sweet taste of rose hip tea on my lips.
