Xanthous

Bees in the valley of plenty

The blossoms reign, cascade of scarlet

Upon the valley. Delicate silken petals

Will boast ethereal glow when starlit

And strike a pose as morning sunshine settles.

~

Their golden treasure lies beneath the anther.

The early spring pollen sings a sweet serenade

And buzz, a whisper through the breeze will answer.

From over hills, across the valley bees parade.

~

The queen, precious enigma, rules the hive,

Awaits the swarm collecting golden dues.

By afternoon, with full bounty they thrive,

The bees return and craft their gooey stews.

~

They fill their home with velvet xanthous honey

From deepest of valleys, scarlet and sunny.

So lovely, the bees are swarming. The enigmatic queen B is a marvel of nature, one woman commanding worship/ why are we not like that again. I should ask the bees their secret. lovely poetry.
