I have written a book.
Now I must promote the book.
Spending money like crazy!
Money, I do not have to spend.
I am told it is a must.
If you do not believe in your work who will.
So, I spend money, more money than I have then
I pray for people to buy my book.
Then I contact my family all cheery, wide eyed?
And I ask them, no beg them to buy my book.
They say nice, good for you and then only my sister buys my book.
Sisters are cool! This one, my sister is the best!
Now I worry if she will like it or not.
Then I pray some more.
Then I see a few people have bought it!
I cheer and celebrate for a bit then I realize.
I need to sell more than 25 books to break even.
The life of a self-published author.
What a life of solitude.
Challenged by money and by human limitations.
Afraid to quit and admit defeat!
What does a 60+ year old woman have to lose?
Two careers under my belt.
Child raising under my belt.
Childbearing out of the way.
Hubby likes me at home anyway.
He smiles when he tells someone I write!
Hubby has no clue about books, writing bless
his heart he tries to sell my books. People buy them from him after he has
flubbed the whole concept of the book.
Tomorrow, I start promoting the book again.
Why?
Writers, write it calls for action!
