Words

by Sam Harty

By ᔕᗩᗰ ᕼᗩᖇTYPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

Every word

that escapes my lips

leaves me feeling dull,

foolish, and ill equipped.

I have nothing truly

important to say if you're

not part of my everyday.

Down my throat I swallow words

scratch welts into my vocal cords.

Without you, everything

else just leaves me bored.

I could write volumes about

your eyes, your lips, your hands

around my hips.

Your smile inspires symphonies

your breath on my breath

brings me to my knees.

But my words falls short without

you to hear how very much I love you

and want you near.

People can't feel what I feel,

understand how you move me to

such beautiful words. Your eyes

don't speak to their heart as

they do mine, they don't know

what I know, that you're one

of a kind.
