A Poem

Wonder

We were wishes, welcomed warmly,

Wrapped while wailing.

Weaned, wobbling.

Walking, wandering.

Waiting, waiting.

When we’ve withered,

Will we worry we wasted

Wistful wants with work?

With worry?

Will we wish we’d waged war with weekday waiting?

When we’ve waned,

When we’re weightless wind-born whispers,

Will we wish we’d woven wonders

With wild wide-eyed whimsy?

I love the pauses you created with the questions, and the repetition of the word "will"!
