I await the day

That I can say

That my hands

I await the night

When I turn

Off the lights

And see their eyes

In the dark

To come home

From a long day

And know that

I make their

Days brighter

For every

Kiss

Hug

And gentle touch

Make our burdens

Lighter

I know that I’ll

Spend too much time

Writing poetry

In his name

Though I know

I’ll write even more

Through any heartache

And pain

Its hard

To wait

And hope for

Our time to come

I’ll share the love

I’ve held inside

And we can be as one.
