Winter sleep, a slumber deep

Beneath the blanket of snow

A world of white, so pure and bright

A peaceful ebb and flow

The trees are bare, their branches bare

But still they stand so strong

Their roots buried deep, they'll keep

Until the thaw comes along

The animals huddle close

In dens and burrows underground

They sleep the sleep of winter

Until the thaw they'll be bound

The wind is still, the air is chill

A silent lullaby

Nature takes its winter sleep

Until the spring comes nigh

But in the sleep, the growth begins

Beneath the blanket of snow

The seeds of spring, the buds of new life

Will soon begin to grow

Winter sleep, a slumber deep

A time of rest and renewal

Nature takes a winter sleep

For the world to be beautiful

The end of winter is near

And soon the snow will melt

Nature will wake from its sleep

And a new season will be felt

Winter sleep, a slumber deep

A peaceful ebb and flow

Nature takes a winter sleep

For the world to grow.
