Windows To The World
A Journey into the Sensory Realm
In the world of senses, where we reside,
Five are the portals that open wide,
To a universe of wonder and delight,
Sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell, all in sight.
Sight brings colors, shapes, and light,
The beauty of nature in plain sight,
A rainbow's hues, a sunset's glow,
A starry night's celestial show.
Hearing tunes the melody of life,
The music of love and strife,
The chirping of birds, the hum of bees,
The whispers of leaves rustling in the breeze.
Touch gives texture, soft or rough,
A gentle caress, a tough, hard stuff,
A feather's stroke, a puppy's lick,
A hug from someone you've missed.
Taste flavors the food we eat,
Sweet or salty, sour or sweet,
A sip of coffee, a bite of cake,
The delights our tongue can make.
Smell awakens memories long forgotten,
The scent of roses, the aroma of cotton,
The fragrance of spring, the whiff of rain,
The memories that scent can regain.
In the world of senses, where we reside,
Five are the portals that open wide,
To a universe of wonder and delight,
Sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell, all in sight.
