Window Shopping

In Frills And Lace

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

I danced

And laughed

In hand

Me downs

No precious jewels

Or golden crown

Imagining a Prince

Would come

My nose print

Marks, beneath the gown

Ballet slippers

To spin around

My dreams whisper

Like drifting clouds

Dancing freely

The sky, it’s floor

Moments fleeting

Begging for more

The sun and moon

Romance the stars

Who sway and swoon

Loved from afar

As do I

dreaming of more

I window shop

Outside the store

Dancing along

With my reflection

To my own song

And imagination

In dreams I am

Solo in spotlight

A precious lamb

Twirling in moonlight

With golden crown

And fancy dreams

My heart is found

In simple things
