Happily ever after
came for Willow and Clyde
The cold call of the hereafter
looked on, while love sighed
The vow of forever
mocked as they fell for the ruse
Surrounded by laughter
they sat, dazed and confused
That day found them unsuspecting
April 1805
Their lives intersecting
as he watched her pass by
He could not resist
the flame that danced in her eyes
She was everything that he'd wished
his love would not be denied
He, a sea captain
she, a native chief's wife
When he'd discovered what happened
the chief demanded his life
They ran looking for cover
they ran with hearts in their hands
The princess and her lover
with no fleet to command
Both making promises
neither could ever keep
Surrendered to the knowledge
death would be their only peace
They died side by side
at the foot of the cliff
Cut her braid, gave her pride
all she could give, was his
And he did the same
before they drew their last breath
He gave her his name
as they jumped to their death
Broken in his arms
their embrace, now eternal
Enveloped in her charms
the princess bride and her colonel
