Wild Rose

By William Sangalli

By Will SangalliPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

Water is pouring down from the dark clouds above

I feel it trickling down my forehead and onto my nose

Wiping it away with my sleeve as I walk at this unholy hour

The moon gives off a glimmer of light, reflecting off the

puddles scattered across the road

Of course, I was thinking of Her, feeling nothing but love

I know I should no longer harbor that feeling, but this is not what I chose

When I think of her, I remember that she was as delicate as a flower

Something to my core just could not let that feeling of her erode

When I had these moments, it truly was all I could dream of

And every time I began to dream, I would smell a wild rose

I simply only had one thought at this smell, at this thought: devour

So, here I am again, lost and in love, feeling as if I may explode
