Wild at Heart

You can't enslave what you can't grab

You came into my life

And swoon me off my legs

You made me feel special

Then took all I had

I was only an accessory

Like a Swarovski bag

You threw me away the moment

You got your stain on me

Like a used napkin after feast

And just like that I was of no more use

So I landed in the trash

"No one wants leftovers"

Was what you said

You thought you broke me

And prepared to hang my scalp

But forgot the one thing

All the poets warned about:

The wild at heart will always howl free.

If this poem found a home in your heart, I would be grateful for a ❤️, a few words in the comments, or a small tip here or on Ko-fi. Every kindness helps me continue weaving stories and verses from the quiet corners of the woods.

Should you wish for a poem written especially for you, you can commission one here.
