Near the cool misty spray of a waterfall I sat,
I was lost deep in thought wondering why,
Not why we start wars instead of feeding the hungry,
Or why people feel the need to harm each other,
I did not ask why we do not see the future,
Or why we get sick and die from seemingly harmless things,
You see, I did not want these questions answered,
The only question on my mind was why we love,
Love is painful, blind, and confusing,
And yet we can’t seem to get enough,
Will each of us ever find our soulmate?
I truly hope for an answer someday,
Why does love bring ruin upon us?
I just want to understand why
