Fizzi's First Valentine
Fizzi is my little seven-pound applejack, meaning he is half apple head chihuahua and half Jack Russell terrier. I brought him home when he was eight days old. Right away he had me wrapped around his tiny paw. Having Fizzi is like having a baby that will never grow up and I spoil him just as much as I did my two children when they were babies.

Meet Pugsly
Meet Pugsly, a dog with shoes. Pugsly is a pit, chow, and grey hound mix. He has a V8 block engine head and lock jaw from the pit, his brown and tan coat is full and fluffy thank to the chow, but underneath all his fluff he is very slender like a grey hound. He is also very fast for seventy pounds. Pugsly is currently seven years old. Thankfully his bark is solid and loud which makes him sound like a junkyard guard dog because he is so sweet and gentle.

Scavenger to Savior:
~Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. Sadly, I know different. The year was 3015 and space travel was already as common as hopping a plane at the airport. Back then I was not known as Karter, I was Kar captain of the scavenger ship BOB, which stood for “Bag of Bolts,” fitting since it was a pieced together junkyard Zoomia5000. My crew and I were from right here on Earth, and when I say crew I mean the twins, Molly and Maddy Hemble. Molly was our navigator and Maddy was our engineer. We had been best friends since our third year of school when we discovered our shared wanderlust for the universe. It was then the three of us began building BOB. By our ninth year of school, we had completed BOB. Finally, we could become scavengers, see the universe, and help bring resources to our township.

"TICKETS!"
“…ckets! Tickets! TICKETS!” Leeta’s eyes shot open. Instantly she was frozen in fear. Quickly she closed her eyes and counted to ten. Normally opening her eyes after ten would wake her from nightmares like this, but not this time. This time, she was truly awake. Worse yet, she seemed to be awake in a nightmare.

Meeting the Mittles
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. It was this dim flickering candle that caught Lucy’s eye. She pulled her notebook from her pocket and checked to see if there were any campers in the area. No campers in the park at all this weekend. Lucy patted her gun, safely on her side. Feeling a tiny bit safer she headed toward the light.

Poke Him With A Broom
Back in the mid 90s I lived with my parents in the high desert of California. The house my parents had bought was an old homestead on five acres. It was small and in serious need of repairs. To be honest, it would have been less work to build a house from scratch. My dad was doing most of the work himself with a little help from my uncles.

Slammin' at Silverwood
It was around four in the morning on a Thursday when my dad woke me up. We were going to go to the lake. The plan was just me, him, and the new Polaris he had gotten a few weeks earlier. Getting up this early ensured that we would be one of the first people to launch off the dock. We packed up, left the house, and went for gas. After getting gas we started the drive through the mountains to the lake.

Three Days. No Voice. Worth It.
Let me start with saying that having a birthday in July usually sucks, at least it did when I was a kid. Most of my friends would go on awesome family vacations or to stay with family for the summer. The year of my 15th birthday I spent most of the summer listening to Aerosmith’s new album, Get A Grip. I knew all the words, as I did to all their music.
