Why I Haven't Posted

when there's nothing to post

By Muchtar SuryawanPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

The page stays empty

When I can’t find the words

The blinking cursor taunts me

.

I stare into space blankly

My unblinking eyes burn

The page stays empty

.

I used to think I could write creatively

Now racking my brain hurts

The blinking cursor taunts me

.

Every line I write is erased immediately

Can’t do better than that? the cruel thoughts return

The page stays empty

.

Your ideas are terrible, they tell me bluntly

Harsh words that I feel I deserve

The blinking cursor taunts me

.

You’re not cut out for this, I hear the whispers daily

So I decide to try again later, if I can ever find my worth

The page stays empty;

The blinking cursor taunts me
