Why Does the Sun Not Melt Body Fat?

It should do, shouldn’t it?

Why Does the Sun Not Melt Body Fat?

I lie in the sun and wonder.

Its fire touches my skin.

Warms my bones.

But my fat remains.

It does not heed my wishes.

Does not bend to desire.

It is the world, impartial.

A teacher of humility.

I touch my own flesh.

Feeling the weight of living.

And I understand slowly.

Some things burn from within.

The sun gives light.

It gives heat.

But change is an act I must do alone.

I breathe with it. I move with it. I honor it.

I feel patience grow inside me.

I feel strength settle in my bones.

I know that transformation is quiet.

It comes step by step, breath by breath.

I watch my shadow shift with the sun.

I feel my body in rhythm with the sky.

And I know that to melt what is heavy,

I must light the fire inside myself.

The sun is witness.

The sun is guide.

But the work is mine.

And mine alone.

I lie, I learn, I wait, I change.

I rise, I walk, I endure.

I breathe, I feel, I am alive.

I am becoming more than I was.
