Whole Heart

A Story

I met you for the first time and my mind was already racing on who you could be, if we could be

My Heart was whole.

Gawking, my friends told me that it was love, me cocking my head back saying no when in reality you were the only thing in the back of my head

My Heart was whole.

I adored the way you could never be bored, taking nothing and turning it into something, was that how you saw me?

My Heart was whole.

The day you told me how much you loved to hold me, how much love you want to give me, how our hearts were connected and but they need to be protected.

That's the day it was over, telling me you regret nothing, the one thing you never turned into something.

My Heart was in pieces.
