Whispers of the Trees

Poems from the Tall Ones.

I.

tell us your secrets

we will hear them

till the end of time

standing tall

books unmade

of knowledge

II.

root to toe

we watch you flow

from life to life

from death to death

sharing a bating breath

until all that’s left is

root upon bone

III.

find a place in my arms to nestle

rest your head and warm your soul

night is coming and shadows fall

my heart is your home in the darkness

IV.

when it rains

a pouring mist over the landscape

stretch out your hands

let it flourish the earth around you

as you reach up towards the sky

growing verdant in heart and soul

nourished by nature

V.

silver leaves rustle

in the meadows echoing

our secrets thoughts lives

to the world born again

rustle of rot

the whispers of a voice anew

VI.

in the early morn before the dawn

we reflect the starry sky

with glittering dew upon our leaves

between the earth and sky

our world sparkles just for you

in a waking dream

VII.

walk among us

ask us our wisdom

of centuries past

feel the breezes of time

moving forward to the ends

of the world

once you reach the other side

rise above the canopy

tall in wisdom

a giver of answers
