Whispers In The Wind
The night grew wide,
stretching the sky,
pulling her thoughts
into silent dark.
The wind called out,
with a broken voice,
carrying names
she tried to forget.
Branches shook hard,
as if warning her,
as if they knew
what followed behind.
She walked the path,
stone after stone,
feeling each step
grow heavy again.
The world grew sharp,
cutting her calm,
turning her breath
to trembling smoke.
A whisper rose,
close to her ear,
a plea for help,
from something unseen.
She did not stop,
the night pulled more,
as footsteps matched
her own slow pace.
When she turned back,
nothing was there,
only the wind,
still calling her name.
