Whispers Beneath the Rain

When hearts speak through silence, even raindrops listen.

By Syad UmarPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

Poem:

In quiet hours when no one's near,

The world is loud, but you I hear.

Your voice, a whisper in the storm,

A warmth that used to keep me warm.

The chair you left still holds its shape,

Like memory refusing escape.

Your coffee cup, the slight perfume—

Still lingers in the lonely room.

I walk the path we used to know,

Where autumn leaves begin to show.

Each step recalls a laugh, a tear—

A thousand moments held so dear.

The sky breaks down, the heavens cry,

A mirror of my weeping eye.

But in the rain, I hear you speak—

A voice so strong, yet faint and meek.

You say, "Don't grieve for what's now past,

Our love was real, it meant to last.

You live for two now—go, be bold,

Let go the pain, but not the hold."

So I will walk, though scarred and sore,

And carry you forevermore.

A ghost not haunting, but a guide—

A love that time could never hide.

Thumbnail Description:

Image Prompt:

A solitary figure walks down a rainy, tree-lined path, holding a black umbrella. Autumn leaves scatter in the puddles. Faintly visible beside them is a soft, glowing silhouette of a loved one walking silently in step. The atmosphere is emotional, quiet, and nostalgic, with diffused light and mist surrounding them.
