[Verse]
The first time you kissed me you smelled like sin
Whiskey on your breath and a devilish grin
I could taste the fire that burned in your chest
A bittersweet poison that felt like the best
[Chorus]
Oh I miss those whiskey kisses in the dark
The taste of you lighting a flame
A spark
But I know you're fighting to keep your soul clean
Still I long for the ghost of what might've been
[Verse 2]
Your hands were unsteady your voice was a slur
But in that chaos I found something pure
You’ve traded the bottle for a new kind of high
But I can't forget the burn of you and rye
[Chorus]
Oh I miss those whiskey kisses in the dark
The taste of you lighting a flame
A spark
But I know you're fighting to keep your soul clean
Still I long for the ghost of what might've been
[Bridge]
I see you now with clear eyes and steady hands
Building a future with no shifting sands
But the memory lingers it’s hard to resist
The way your love tasted in a whiskey mist
[Chorus]
Oh I miss those whiskey kisses in the dark
The taste of you lighting a flame
A spark
But I know you're fighting to keep your soul clean
Still I long for the ghost of what might've been
