Where She Went

and what she does is still a mystery—there are no answers here

She the force bursting nature

Sneezed typhoon swirls

Pacific pressures in isobars

raging, releasing, and raging again

When will it/this/she end

Constrained frustrations at back of throat

chesty coughs

intermittent eruptions

lava phlegm viscous thick from earth’s core

as cyclones began earlier

traveled further

screaming scorched disaster zones in agony from grade IV ulcerations

body crust rubbed raw and inflamed

that tried diplomacy with resultant failed negotiations

Depleted prior abundant patience

No more promises

Leave her be to burn off toxins

excreting pathogenic menace in all its forms

She commences task

regenerates and realigns

healing from depth to surface

immunity building oceans oxidizing

rainforest filling lungs from latitudes now kept secret

to placate protect petition her pleasure

in desperation and hope

that longer she’ll stay

or at the very least

she will return
