Where My Heart Wanders

I am Lyton,

a keeper of vows,

a soul once certain of love's only path.

Then, like dawn upon a quiet sky,

you arrived,

and my heart learned a language it had never spoken.

I did not seek another spring,

nor chase a borrowed dream.

Yet somehow, your presence

became a melody I could not silence.

Now I stand where two rivers meet,

one flowing with years of shared memories,

the other shimmering with a love

I never saw it coming.

Each sunrise leaves me more undone,

each sunset asks a question

my heart cannot answer.

How can one soul

belong to yesterday

and still reach for tomorrow?

Love has become both my shelter

and my storm.

So here I remain,

caught between promise and longing,

between memory and hope,

a heart divided,

yet still beating,

still loving,

still searching for its way home.
