In A World Without You
tapestries and memories
scattered emotions line the floor
letting go and losing things
where faith and sorrow go to war
funny how in seconds flat
the world became a stranger place
when I can't follow where you're at
and long so much to see your face
a breath away from yesterday
and eternity expands between us
I never imagined when you went away
that tears could turn my heart to rust
fragile fingers cling to life
while the will is letting go
it's more than my heart can describe
and time bids me to forgo
the path unpaved before me
as the past begs me to stay
separation in the sixth degree
removes the thorn in my bouquet
knowing that you are with me
I can face another day
here, in my fondest memories
any time and any place
