Where Have You Gone?

Lost to me.

For ESM

Your heart still beats. Your Feet still step.

But no longer toward me.

I pass places you might be. Yet you could be around any corner.

I fail to find you.

My heart knows yours. My mind keeps you.

But there is so much of me, frail now. Where we were safe together.

Lost to me.

Taken. Turned away. Buried deep, when I can.

A loss that is never final.

It returns without warning.

While my heart still beats. While my feet still step.

I will follow the memory of you, shaping what I can only imagine.

Through days that do not answer.

I will always long for your return, for ours.

Forever found because I cannot stop loving you.

Even here where I cannot reach.

For ESM.
