Where Are You Now?

A haunting journey through loss, memory, and the endless search for a vanished soul

By Vincent HalePublished 5 months ago • 1 min read
ARE YOU HERE?

Where are your now? I call, I cry,

Beneath the earth, above the sky.

I searched for you in heaven's light,

And wandered deep in hell's own night.

I asked the trees, their leaves were still,

I climbed the mountain, crossed the hill.

The rivers wept beneath the moon,

Their waves repeating your lost tune.

I asked your village, door to door,

But no one knew you lived there more.

The wind replied with silent air,

Your name just vanished everywhere.

Even the stones beneath my feet,

Felt heavier with your defeat.

The stars looked down, then turned away-

As if you'd never touched the day.

Alone I walk, with empty hands,

Through broken time and wordless lands.

I search, I ache, I roam...

But hope still hums a sacred hymn.
