When Winter Wanes

A Tautogram

When winter wanes,

wends Westward, where winds

weave warmth within, weaken, wear,

we, weary, wait.

We, weary, want.

Women walk, weathered,

wide-eyed, wakeful.

Whimsical waterfowl wade,

watchful, webbed.

Wolvish weeds won’t wither,

waking wildly, wealthily.

Wanderers wander, writers write.

While wombs widen,

wardrobes wither.

Woods wax,

wrens work.

When winter wanes,

we will welcome

wildflowers.
