A hundred days, a hundred years,

Will never wash away the tears

Of thousands left, when thousands die

Because they let the missiles fly.

~

And knowing this, they posture, still

And threaten, to impose their will,

While to ourselves, we still deny

That they would let the missiles fly.

~

“And after all, what can we do?

It isn't as if me and you

Can hope they'll listen and learn why

They shouldn't let the missiles fly.”

~

A hundred-forty thousand lost

In one bright flash – a hellish cost.

By tens, the toll will multiply

If we should we let the missiles fly.

~

Yet, some seem anxious to begin

The war we know, no one will win.
