When The Rain Stops

Last Tear

By Mercedes ChavezPublished 16 days ago 1 min read

As raindrops grace the earth with tender touch,

So does the memory of you, so much.

A scent, a whisper in the storm's soft sigh,

A presence felt in every clouded sky.

**********************************************

Yet, in this downpour, truth rings clear and true,

Our paths diverge, our time is but a few.

The rain, it speaks of love that cannot be,

A tale of us, just out of reach, you see.

*********************************************

For in each drop, your essence lingers near,

A dance of fate that brought your soul so dear.

But like the rain that falls then drifts away,

Our story's one of love that couldn't stay.

********************************************

So let the rain be our sweet, sad refrain,

A symphony for hearts that loved in vain.

Though we part ways, in every drop I'll find,

The love we shared, forever undefined.
