When the Angels Went Silent

The whole world wanted to listen to them again

When the Angels Went Silent

When the angels went silent

The world did not stop

People still walked past windows

And clocks still spoke

Then something changed inside me

Something I could not explain

Like warmth leaving a room slowly

Without announcing its name

I waited for signs and comfort

For something to return

For one quiet reassurance

For one small light to burn

Yet silence answered silence

Days folded into years

I learned some prayers are spoken

Without ever reaching ears

Still I looked at the morning

And noticed tiny things

Birdsong through open spaces

The shift each season brings

Maybe angels are not voices

Maybe they do not appear

Maybe silence is not absence

Maybe they remain near

So I stopped asking for thunder

Stopped waiting for the sky

And found something softer waiting

That had never left my side
